Since 1980, Focal has designed, developed and manufactured drive-units and loudspeakers. They are an internationally renowned market leader in quality acoustic loudspeakers. Over these years, several legendary models and series have appeared and led the way to greater success and prestige. One of the world's best and most expensive loudspeakers, the Grande Utopia Be is made by Focal. This speaker alone created a worldwide shock that catapulted Focal into history as the most innovative loudspeaker brand on the planet.  Innovation, design and industrialisation continue a tradition where skilled handwork remains an essential element of their products, which are manufactured  at their factory in France. Dynamism and creativity are intrinsic Focal values. The inverted-dome tweeter, pure Beryllium, the exclusive ”W” sandwich composite cone, Polyglass, the OPC crossover, Focus Ring, IAL structure, high-output BASH® digital amplification, subwoofers with digital processing… all these technologies represent solutions to the previously impossible.

Focal 714 5.1  £1,599.00 This is our favourite 5.1 system and our owner Dave Cawley uses it exclusively at his home.  Dave could have anything he wants, but chooses this good looking and insightful system. The big question always is "how does it compare to the Dali Ikon 6 5.1 system" ?  Many who have heard both prefer the sound of the Focals.  Think garlic and red wine for the Focal 714 and Big Mac and fries for the Dali Ikon 6.  The Focals are way better looking and a tad smaller, and their performance and sound quality is far superior (in our view).  If all you want is explosions and breaking glass, the Focals are not for you, even though they do explosions and breaking glass exceptionally well!  If you like the quality of HD especially DTS, then this is the 5.1 package for you. This is the 'thinking man's' 5.1 system.  THX, HD, DTS, Dolby Digital, whatever; these are the speakers to have. These are speakers that will bring subtlety and reveal nuances that others will not.  The rustle of litter on a street corner, the delicate music of a street cafe musician, this is Focal, like you were there in real life.  This is what we believe, and Focal say: Home Theatre is a constant evolution. The arrival of new High Definition video formats, with their accompanying audio tracks exhibiting greater dynamics, power and richness and detail demand that we go further. Quality stereo loudspeakers, when compared to vastly inferior Home Theatre models, are hard-pressed to express the emotion or sheer impact of a movie soundtrack. Our offering of subwoofer, as well as centre channel and surround speakers, has been developed in parallel with the other Chorus 700 V speakers to ensure a natural 3D sound field and an optimal spatial coherence. This allows the transition of sound effects from one speaker to another to attain an incredibly realistic quality.

Focal Chorus 714V front left/right

The smallest of the Chorus V floorstanders exhibits a fine form with a minimal footprint. Elaborate yet balanced, the Chorus 714 V benefits from two 5" (14cm) woofers in a 2-and-a-half way configuration to deliver solid bass. Ideal for rooms of 15 to 25m2.  Your partner will love the good looks, the small size and the complete lack of overpowering presence!  The sides slop gently inwards, there is hardly a right angle to be seen anywhere, they are lovely.  This is no slab sided, MFI inspired monster, this is a Focal loudspeaker.

Focal Chorus CC 700V Centre

The Chorus CC 700 V is a centre loudspeaker that has been phase-optimized to offer an optimal directionality. Its qualities of dynamics, linearity and timbre are equally in tune with the ensemble of the Chorus 700 V line to maintain  excellent sonic coherence.  Centre speakers are arguably the most important as much of the movie sound track dialogue use it, with two x 6 1/2" units and a 1" dome tweeter you get the power and the clarity and detail you really need.

Focal Chorus SW 700V Subwoofer

The SW 700 V inherits the motor of the famous SW 700 S of the preceding generation. The firmness of the bass from the 11" woofer, married to the inexhaustible resources of the 300 Watt BASH® amplifier, surely benefits from the exceptional rigidity of the new Chorus 700 V cabinets.  You will be surprised at how good looking this sub really is, and more surprised when you hear it!

Focal Chorus rear bipolar surround

The same drive-units as in the Chorus V line, in a very flat and compact loudspeaker, this is the key to the SR 700 V. It is aesthetic, discrete and an all-out performer! Ideal to fill large surround spaces and to accompany Chorus 700 V in multi-channel mode.

Cable If you want us to make up your cables for you, and why not, we will supply a 6 cable pack for a base price of £24.00 plus  £2.50 a metre.  So for example if you wanted 2m for the left, right, centre and sub, plus 10m each for the rear surround, the total cost would be £104.00.  This will be in proper Hi Fi 2 x 2.5mm² cable, simply the best!  You could pay over £450 for identical looking QED cable.  This offer is only open when you buy a Focal 5.1 system directly from us.
